It was with this vision that my late husband, Dr. R. K. Joshi, Founder Chairperson of Bhartiya Skill Development University (BSDU), and I, identified the urgent need to transform India’s approach to vocational education. Our extensive exposure to global models - especially the renowned Swiss Dual System - revealed how nations like Switzerland, Germany, and Austria achieved exceptional industrial and economic growth by integrating structured skill development into their education systems.

Motivated by this insight and driven by a deep commitment to national development, BSDU was established as one of its kind in India – an institution dedicated exclusively to high-quality skill education, inspired by the Swiss model. BSDU blends practical, hands-on training with academic excellence, ensuring that our graduates are not only knowledgeable but industry-ready and globally competitive.
