The objectives of Internships and Placements in a university setting are designed to benefit the students. They typically include the following:

Understanding Industry Standards: Following the concept of 70% hands-on training, students are required to undergo a compulsory internship for 3 semesters in the industry, gaining practical experience and developing skills aligned with industry needs. Every odd semester, students participate in internships, applying their learning and enhancing their industry awareness. This ensures they are better prepared for different job roles by reinforcing the skills acquired during the even semesters at BSDU.

  • Career Path Exploration: Provide students to explore and understand potential career paths within their field of study.
  • Professional Networking: Facilitate opportunities for students to build professional networks that may benefit them in their future careers.

  • Pre-Employment Training: Job roles after every semester define the role students will undertake during workplace training.
  • Branch courses are compulsory which equip the students to adapt to the procedures and system required during internship thereby serving as a bridge between academic learning and practical job-ready skills needed by industries.

Pipeline for Industry: Develop a talent pipeline that industries can leverage for prospective recruitment needs. Additionally, collaborations existing between the BSDU and industries are enhanced through partnerships and long-term recruitment opportunities.

Industry Feedback Loop: Provide insights into industry requirements, BSDU through its Board of Studies (BOS) and academic council update and refine their curriculum based on employer feedback and analysis.

Promoting Entrepreneurial Thinking: Encourage entrepreneurial skills through industry-life aspects of learning undertaken by the General education department as part of their curriculum. Exposing students to start-up environments or innovation-driven projects which fosters a mind-set of ideation and problem-solving.

Industrial Relations Department

The Industrial Relations Department of a university plays a vital role in building and maintaining long term relationships between the university and the corporate world.

Company Visit by : Tianu Furniture

On Wednesday, September 18, 2024, Ms. Vinita Kumar and Dr. Partha Datta, directors of Tianu Furniture, visited Bhartiya Skill Development University to explore collaborative opportunities.
