General Education for Holistic Development

Overview

The Faculty of General Education provides a varied exposure to the students of the University for their All-Inclusive Development. The skill- training imparted by the various Skill Faculties of the University is complemented through the various courses offered by the Faculty of General Education aiding their holistic growth and all round improvement.

The courses aim to groom students by enhancing their general knowledge, critical thinking and communication skills, adding on to their knowledge about the economy, governance, and environment, developing their logical and mathematical skills, promoting their understanding of the social, political, economic and natural environment, cultivating their proficiency in collecting and organizing information, developing their moral values, etc.

The courses offered also help students imbibe responsible citizenship, ethical behaviour, educational ambition, professional development and global integration thus broadening their spectrum of thought and overall understanding through the courses covering an array of disciplines.

Objective

The courses under the Faculty of General Education are designed to:

  • Provide a judicious mix of soft skills relating to a professional and appropriate content of General Education.
  • Ensure that students have adequate knowledge and skills so that they are work ready after getting the degree as per industry requirement.

Welcome to the Faculty of General Education! The Faculty imparts quality education to all students of BSDU irrespective of their disciplines. The courses offered by the Faculty in every semester of the B. Voc. and M. Voc. Programmes aim at holistic development of the students; skilling them for the global market, thus transforming their lives. At BSDU, we believe that proficiency at the workplace is enhanced by good communication skills, excellent personalities, an awareness of world events, respect for values and traditions in addition to technical skills. The Faculty provides state -of –the- art amenities to create an environment for enhancing learning in these disciplines in addition to various others.
