Overview
School of Refrigeration and Air-conditioning Skills was introduced in 2017, with a mission to impart knowledge and Technical skills of Refrigeration and Air-conditioning systems by imparting hands-on training of Installation, Service, diagnosis, assembly and troubleshooting of different types of Refrigeration and Air-conditioning systems e.g. Room air conditioner, refrigerator, Split Air Conditioner, Variable refrigerant flow air conditioning system and central air conditioning systems. Students under this program will acquire the skills and knowledge of mechanical, electrical and electronic components used in the latest Refrigeration and Air-conditioning systems. A Centre of Excellence has been established in University Campus by Daikin Air-conditioning India Private Ltd. for training in Daikin Air-conditioning systems.
Objective
The programmes under the School of Refrigeration and Air-conditioning are designed to:
- Achieve NSQF level 7 in at least one job role/profile like RAC Engineer
- Be trained in multiple skill like installation, service, and troubleshooting of various RAC systems e.g. window, high wall air-conditioner, VRF, cold storage, cold chain, Central air conditioning systems and Building Management Systems
- Be able to start his/her own enterprise/workshop in RAC system as well as government jobs
- Be able to secure gain employment
- Become socially responsible, culturally aware and ethically better citizens of today and tomorrow.

After graduating from BSDU, students acquire enough skills to become as an entrepreneur in the field of RAC.
