Overview
The School of Automotive Skills came into existence in 2017, with a mission to impart knowledge, technical skills & hands-on training in automobiles, focusing on four wheelers & three wheelers, both petrol & diesel, and two wheelers. We will soon be launching new courses in repair and maintenance of heavy vehicles, tractors and agricultural implements.
The program is designed to introduce the students to the operation of today’s complex vehicles by giving them a comprehensive understanding from basic to advance, of various automotive systems like transmission, brakes, steering, suspension, Electrical & Electronics, and Engine Performance, etc. Students under this program will acquire the necessary skills to diagnose and repair mechanical and computer controlled electronic systems on the latest models of automobiles.
The Indian auto industry is one of the largest in the world. According to Indian Brand Equity Foundation, the industry accounts for 7.1 per cent of the country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP). With such a huge market comes the requirement of skilled people for after sales service of automobiles where trained manpower is required. The School will create a new benchmark in skill development in the Automotive Industry by developing a work force which will be an ideal blend of technical skills and managerial expertise.
The training is based on the Swiss Dual System, which lays greater emphasis on practical training to make the trained students industry ready on completion of their training. The School has well equipped laboratories, well stocked library and qualified and experienced faculty and trainers to achieve our stated aim. Presence of highly skilled and vertically specialised Swiss Trainers in the School, further help in enhancing the professional competence of the students.
A very active Placement Cell in the University, helps in placing all the students in relevant industries for their internships in alternate semesters, for further enhancing their practical skills.
The school continuously strives to keep abreast with the latest equipment fit in the industry to modify and amend the curriculum so that our students remain updated and skilled in their respective fields.
Objective
The programmes under the School of Automotive Skills are designed to:
- To create an end-to-end implementation frame-work for skill development in automobile sector, providing opportunities for quality long and short-term skill training, by providing gainful employment and ensuring career progression that meets the aspirations of trainees.
- To establish cross sectoral, nationally and internationally acceptable standards for skill training in the country by creating a comprehensive program of teaching and training.
- To ensure high quality options for long term training, benchmarked to internationally acceptable qualification standards, which will ultimately help to create a highly skilled work-force for the automobile sector.
- To develop and retain a network of highly qualified teachers & trainers in the automotive sector.
- To develop the School as a Centre of Excellence in skill development for Automotive Skills.

- The School houses one of the best Infrastructure, tools and equipments benchmarked with best Automotive Workshops and training facilities of global standard and is equipped with brands like John Bean, Snap-On, Blue-Point, GYS, Dynasole, 3M and Bosch.
- During last three years the School has a record of providing and facilitating students with 100% Internship-placement with a good stipend amount paid to them on monthly basis.
- The School ensures best training with its training partners including service stations of Jaguar Landrover, Maruti, Honda, John Bean, Blue-Point and others.
- The School ensures upgradation of skills and its syllabus with its industry partners through an MoU with companies like, Axalta Coating Systems, Automotive Skill Development Council, Hero Motocorp., Fleeca India Pvt. Ltd., Studio34, Maruti Care Centre etc.
- The School has a Centre of Excellence for Two-Wheeler Training in collaboration with Hero Motocorp.

Once I finished my schooling I had a big question concerning my future career and I went browsing through different undergraduate courses when I came across B.Voc. program in Automotive Skills at BSDU Jaipur, with my keen interest in Automobile and my passion for working by my own hands inspired me to choose this course, and all my expectation regarding practical learning and knowledge were fulfilled with availability of high end equipments and strong group of trainers and faculty. Also all my internships were arranged by the School with handsome amount of monthly stipend. With my abilities and interest, I was supported to prepare myself for World Skills Competition for 2021. In my final year all the required placement assistance and opportunities were provided to me and at the moment I have a number of job opportunities and I am a preferred candidate by Automotive service industry for which I thank SAS.

My tenure as a student at SAS BSDU was a life changing experience for me. Being a creative person I always wanted to try new projects and bring my creativity on ground reality, apart from my classes and training the School always motivated and supported me to take lead and do some good projects because of that I was student lead Incharge of three projects- Mini-Tractor, Low Cost Segway and Motorized Wheel Chair. This helped me to develop problem solving skills apart from acquiring hand skills during training. The school arranged my internships with stipend paid to me on monthly basis at KTL Maruti and Pink City Honda. As a result, I had a choice of jobs in my final year and with suitable guidance and mentorship provided by the School I have joined KTL Maruti as Service Advisor. Thank you SAS.

Just like any other student finishing his schooling, I too was confused regarding choosing any undergraduate course, it was then when I came to know about B.Voc. degree in Automotive Skills through my father who has been in Automotive Service business throughout his life. I always wanted to follow his footsteps and this course has provided me this opportunity. The School has tie-ups with various industries like JLR, Honda, Maruti etc. and I got full support for arrangement of my internship and that too with good amount of stipend. With one of the best in class infrastructure and training support I am sure that I am at the right place to do my degree and after finishing the program, I will be skilled to such a level where I will have plenty of job opportunities in my hand as is the case with my seniors.
