B. Voc in Healthcare Skills (Patient Relation Services)

Objectives

After completion of the program, the student will:
B.Voc

  • Be trained to NSQF level 7 in the job role of Healthcare Skills train, advise and guide patients
  • be able to advise and assist patients with diabetes and to create a treatment plan with other professionals
  • be able to perform Central venous catheter Port à Cath
  • be able to place a bladder catheter and a nasogastric tube
  • be able to ensure a dignified relationship with dying people
  • be able to accompany people with mental illnesses
  • be able to recognize ethical conflicts and to make an ethical decision-making interdisciplinary

Advanced Diploma

  • Be able to perform simple isolation measures
  • Be able to inject and withdraw blood
  • Be able to care for the catheter (bladder and stomach) and to perceive changes
    perform life-saving measures
  • instruct patients in respiratory support
  • be able to perform a primary dressing change

Diploma

  • Demonstrate techniques to maintain the personal hygiene needs of a patient
  • Practice infection control measures
  • Demonstrate the ability to perform clinical skills essential in providing basic health care services
  • Promote safety, understands usage of protective devices
  • Be able to behavior professional
  • Demonstrate right methods of bio medical waste management
  • To assist in Basic Life Support skills
  • Be able to have professional conversations with patients
